The idea for the Destroyer Series began in 2022, during a retreat in Ojai. As I sat and tried to express the type of art I’d like to create (many things!) and what my purpose is (joy! and what if it could include activism!) Rob pitched me the idea of creating a series/collection of pieces titled… (you guessed it) The Destroyer Series.

Based on Shiva the Destroyer meets divine feminine energy vibes:

• Shiva | a creator, protector and transformer of the universe. Disruptor and destroyer of broken, failing systems for the purpose of rejuvenation.

• Divine Feminine | the concept that there exists a feminine counterpart to the patriarchal and masculine structures that have long dominated. The embodiment of: intuition, empathy, nurturing, creativity, and interconnectedness.

Since then, I’ve tried to come up with the “perfect” idea for the series e.g. block printed fabrics with icons and symbols… on bandanas? No, shirts! Wait, not shirts… You get the idea. It wasn’t until recently, while I was in a funk about the state of the world, that I took a week to sit in my feelings and paint them onto canvas and wood— and I knew they’d be the first iteration of the series.

As it stands, Destroyer pieces will be one of a kind offerings (even by studio standards) with portions of every sale donated amongst a curated selection of causes. How does it work? In the comments box (at checkout) tell me which group/org/charity you’d like to support → I’ll donate and send you a copy of the donation confirmation email.

You’ll have stunning new art, and we’ll both give back together ❤️🙌🏼⚡️

Series #1 Donation Options: Doctors Without Borders • Center for Reproductive Rights • ActBlue • Everytown • No Kid Hungry • RAICES • World Central Kitchen

50% of each painting will be donated directly to the group of your choice (from the aforementioned options).

I’ve also created a video of the pieces, which you can view here.
