FAQS

  • You can learn more about the custom order process here.

  • I don’t offer returns or exchanges; including sizing/fit issues or a change of heart or mind. If you have any questions, or need further clarification, please contact me before placing your order. All items are final sale.

In the event that you receive a faulty item, a replacement will be made whenever possible or a store credit issued. A replacement request must be sent within two days of delivery, including the issue with the item(s) as well as photos. If accepted, you will be sent a prepaid shipping label and must return the item(s) no more than seven days from the date of delivery. Merchandise must be unworn, unwashed and unused. Upon my receipt and inspection of merchandise, your request will be processed and you will be notified by email within one week. I have the right to deny any/all credits if the return does not meet my requirements.

Please ensure that you treat your items with care, and follow the instructions on your garment tags/care card. I’m not responsible in the event that you accidentally damage your order. Every item is thoroughly inspected and photographed before it ships.

  • Unless otherwise noted on your garment care card and/or laundry tags:

    • Cotton: wash cold with like colors and air or tumble dry low.

    • Linen: wash cold and air or tumble dry low, removing item(s) while still slightly damp. Hang or lay flat to finish drying. For a clean, creaseless look iron on medium heat while the fabric is still slightly damp. Do not dry clean.

    • Rayon: hand wash with gentle swishes in cold water for best care or machine wash cold on gentle using a delicates bag. Never wash in warm or hot water. Rayon is very delicate when wet- do not wring or twist as it can damage the fibers. To dry, place item on a towel and pat to absorb excess water then smooth back to original shape. Air dry flat or hang on a hanger that supports the weight of the item. Do not tumble dry. Iron on rayon setting, which is a lower heat setting.

    • Silk: hand wash with delicate agitation in cool water, using a delicates detergent. Don’t let your item soak overlong, a few minutes will do. Silk fibers are weaker when wet, so handle with care- avoid twisting or wringing. To dry, place item on a towel and pat to absorb excess water then smooth back to original shape. Air dry. Iron, if desired, on a low heat setting- use a pressing cloth between the iron and silk to avoid accidental marks.

Natural/botanically dyed items should be cared for using a pH neutral liquid detergent, to prolong the life of the color. I recommend Ecos or Eucalan.

Never use any type of bleach on your items.

All items have been pre-washed and are pre-shrunk.

  • Happily, with caveats— the item(s) you send must be 100% silk or cellulose fibers (cotton, hemp, linen, rayon) including the thread. Synthetic fibers aren’t compatible with the dyestuffs I use and take color unevenly at best, if at all. Most synthetics reject them like No Way. Zip. Nada. Nothing. I won’t test or guarantee your fiber content prior to dyeing. If you choose to supply the dyeables for your order you assume responsibility for the quality of the item(s). Vintage pieces were sometimes treated with a coating at the seams, and the natural treatments I use can remove it… causing the garment to fall apart. It’s rare, but not out of the question depending on the strength and age of your item. While I handle all pieces with the utmost care, I cannot be responsible for anything that may happen during the dye process. Cool? Cool.

  • All orders ship as one complete order— unless you request multiple shipments (multiple shipping charges will apply). You will receive a confirmation email with tracking information when available when your complete order ships.

Domestic: I’m not accountable should the shipper lose/misplace your package, or if your package is stolen from your mailbox/drop point. Nor am I liable for packages sent to incorrectly provided addresses. If you require additional insurance and/or delivery signature, I am happy to arrange and invoice for these additional services. Replacement of goods will unfortunately not be provided otherwise.

International: Shipping internationally can mean that you may be required to pay customs and import taxes. I’m not responsible for any international fees, and am legally required to declare the full dollar value paid on all shipments. Likewise, I’m not responsible for any of the circumstances outlined above in Domestic shipping policies.

While your order will arrive in its own wrapping and/or packaging I sometimes use like new exterior boxes when shipping larger orders. Both to keep costs down and more importantly to be kinder to our planet. We like her 🌎 and do everything we can to reduce needless waste. If you are placing an order and would prefer a new exterior box be used, please let me know at checkout.

  • I recommend measuring your own clothing to compare with item listings. Fit is a personal preference, and size guides are solely based on each garment manufacturer’s recommendations.

Not seeing items in your size? Let me know— I carry everything from petite to plus, and not everything is listed online.

  • Ready Made orders typically ship within 1-2 business days unless part of an order with yet to be dyed items. All orders ship as one complete order unless you request multiple shipments (multiple shipping charges will apply).

It normally takes 1-2 weeks to complete the average order once I have begun dyeing your item(s).

Turnaround times for Made to Order and Custom Orders vary based on:

    • The existing orders currently in the dye queue. Priority is on a first come first served basis.

    • Whether or not I currently have the undyed item(s) on hand. Should I need to source items you will be notified with the estimated delivery date, and your order will enter the dye queue upon receipt.

    • Should you choose to purchase sample swatches: this process normally takes 1-3 days to complete, review and approve.
