Aside from custom orders, I’ve been focused on perfecting double and triple dipped marbled ornaments and quilting a fabric work I began a year and a half ago. It’s the first large scale textile piece I’ll be offering in studio {some would use it as a quilt, others would hang it as art— renegades would do both}.

Invitations and information on holiday marbling workshops at the studio can be found here.

If you can’t join in-person and/or already have your marbling chops, I shared a plastic ornament marbling tutorial here.

I’ve marbled about a hundred ornaments {and counting} between testing and demoing for class… which I’m excited to offer as holiday sets— available for local pick up only. Pricing tbd, based on the number of ornaments in each set.

Keep your eyes peeled for more information via Instagram.

Journal posts are usually end of the month wrap-ups, with the next at the end of December… long after first dibs will be called.

Some of my faves, so far:

While I was at it, I gave this little silk a partial dip too.

My first holiday marblers, and some of the beautiful pieces they created:

Made to Order |

A local school reached out to see if I’d dye their cheer team shirts (before sending them off for printing) 📣

And I was like, “Friends! Have you come to the right place!?!” 🎉

← They said they loved these colors (from the Gallery). 🔮🌈🦄 {I can always repeat colors you’ve seen on other pieces}.

They chose to supply their own tees, and dropped them off for dyeing.

Fronts and backs |

I used the exhaust color from the tees to dye a few pieces of silk. Here’s one fresh out of the dye bath:

Print Shop LA |

Screen printing is a skill that’s been on my to-learn list for a few years. I love the idea of designing custom stencils/screens that can be layered and hand printed in person— making experiential bespoke goods.

This month I finally had the pleasure of taking a Screen Printing Basics class at a local shop. I was surprised at the amount of large (and prohibitive for my purposes) machinery required for the style of fabric printing we would be doing, but loved learning about the process— and walked out with an entirely new appreciation for the art form.

Shout-out to Mae, for letting me choose a rainbow roll as my single ink color 🙌🏻

Studio drop cloth |

I love to dye/paint working over other fabric, capturing the fugitive color fleeing from pieces in unexpected and totally unique ways. The current studio drop cloth is especially large (it had a former life as a seamless photo backdrop) and recently came out to be rinsed and rotated.
